A golfer's booking link

You booked a tee time on a club's page. Here is how to use the link in your confirmation to change the number of players, move to another time, add the tee time to your calendar or cancel it.

Quick answer. When you book a tee time on a club's page, the confirmation has a button, Change or cancel this booking. It opens your booking's own page. There you can change how many are playing, add the tee time to your calendar, pick a different time, or cancel. If you are signed in, My Tee Times lists your bookings and lets you cancel from there too.

Who can do this: any golfer who booked, with no account needed. We walked it as a golfer who was not signed in, and again as a fictional signed-in golfer.

Before you start

Keep the confirmation. The link is the key to your booking. If you typed an email when you booked, the page said it sent you the details and a change-or-cancel link. If you typed only a phone number, it said nothing was coming by message, so use the button on the confirmation before you close it.

The steps

  1. On the confirmation page, press Change or cancel this booking. The page that opens is headed Your tee time and shows when you play. It also tells you the last moment you can change or cancel online. Ours said "until Thursday 7:00 AM".
  2. To change how many are playing, use the box How many are playing? (1 to 6). In our walk we changed a booking of two to three, and it worked. We typed six, and the page said "That tee time holds up to 4 players." We went back to two, and it said "Updated — 2 players. The spare spot is back on sale."
  3. To put it in your calendar, press Add to your calendar. Your browser saves a small calendar file called tee-time.ics.
  4. To move to another time, press Pick a different time. The page says "Book the new time first — this one goes back on sale the moment you cancel it." We did not walk the move itself.
  5. To cancel, press Cancel this booking. The page asks "Cancel Thursday's tee time?" with Never mind and Yes, cancel it. Press Yes, cancel it. The page says "Cancelled — the tee time is back on sale. See you another day!"
  6. If you open the same link again after cancelling, the page says "This booking is cancelled. The tee time went back on sale."

If you are signed in

The page My Tee Times lists your bookings. It lives at /my/bookings on the same site. We looked for a menu item or a button that opens it and found none, so we reached it by typing the address.

  • With no bookings it says "No tee times yet. When you book at a club that uses Back9Ops, your tee times land here."
  • A booking sits under COMING UP with the day, the time, the course and a line such as "2 players · 18 holes", with Cancel and Book again.
  • Cancel asks "Cancel Thursday's 9:00 AM at Sandpiper Ridge Golf Course? The spots open up again." Press Yes, cancel it, and a message at the bottom says Cancelled. The booking moves to a list headed PLAYED & CANCELLED, marked "cancelled".

What you should see

After a change, a message that says what changed. After a cancel, the message "Cancelled — the tee time is back on sale. See you another day!"

If it goes wrong

  • You lost the confirmation. The link is the way in. If you booked while signed in, My Tee Times lists the booking. If not, call the club's pro shop.
  • The page says "Online cancellation closes 24 hours before the tee time — call the course instead." The club has set a cut-off, and you are past it. Call the pro shop. The cut-off is the club's choice, and it differs from club to club.
  • "That tee time holds up to 4 players." You asked for more spots than the tee time has. Choose a smaller number.
  • You cancelled by mistake. The page says the tee time went back on sale. Book it again from the club's page, if it is still open. We did not try to undo a cancel.
  • You are on your phone. We walked this on the web only and say nothing about the phone.

Director's tip

Tell your golfers to keep the confirmation. That one link is how they change or cancel without calling you.

Still stuck?

Email support@back9ops.com and tell us the club's name, the day and time of the tee time and what the page showed.
