Score your round on your phone

How to put in the scores for you and your group, hole by hole, fix a wrong number, and submit the card when you finish.

Quick answer. Press Enter Scores on your home page. Tap the number a golfer scored on the hole. It saves the moment you tap and moves on to the next golfer, then the next hole. When all 18 are in, press Review & Submit.

Who can do this: any golfer on the field who is signed in. This article is about scoring in your phone's web browser. If you scan a QR code on your card instead, read Scoring without an account.

Before you start

Sign in with the account you gave the director. The Enter Scores button shows only when the director has opened scoring and you are in a group. If it is missing, see "If it goes wrong" below.

The steps

  1. Open your scorecard. On your home page, press Enter Scores on the Live Now card. You land on the Enter tab, on your start hole ("Hole 1 of 18"). The top of the screen shows the par, the stroke index and the yards.
  2. Look at who it is asking about. It says "Enter a score for" and a name, and below it "Your group · 0 of 3 in" with a chip for each golfer. Anyone in your group can enter scores for the group, so one phone can do the whole card.
  3. Tap the number. The keys run from 1 up, and each one carries its name: Par, Bogey, Birdie and so on, worked out from the par of that hole. One tap is the whole job. There is nothing to type and nothing to confirm.
  4. Watch it move. The screen says, for example, "Now entering: Ed Kessler · Dave Prentiss's 4 is in", and the group count goes up by one. After the last golfer's score, it moves to the next hole by itself after a moment.
  5. For a 10 or more, press 10+. That opens a second set of keys. Tap the score, or press Back to 1–9 to go back.
  6. Fix a wrong number. Tap that golfer's chip, then tap the right number. The screen says, for example, "Changed to 4 for Ed Kessler. Staying on hole 4." The old number is replaced. You can also jump to any hole with the arrows at the top, or from the Card tab.
  7. Check the card. Press the Card tab. It shows one golfer's card at a time, and the line at the top says whose ("You are scoring for …"). Every hole is listed with its score and a Done or Open mark, and the totals sit at the bottom: Total (Gross) and Net (Gross - HCP …). Tap a hole to go back and change it.
  8. Submit your own card. When all 18 holes of your card are in, the page says "All 18 holes recorded". Press Review & Submit. A box shows the card. Press Submit Scorecard to send it, or Keep editing to go back.

What you should see

After you submit, the page says "Scorecard submitted" and "Your scorecard is submitted. Scores are view-only." with View Leaderboard and Back to Event buttons. Your gross and net total are shown.

If it goes wrong

  • There is no Enter Scores button. Scoring may not be open yet. Ask the director. Once they open it, your home page shows the button.
  • A score is wrong. Before you submit, tap that golfer's chip (or the hole on the Card tab) and tap the right number. It saves at once.
  • The numbers are hidden. Press Show numbers. Hide numbers is there to give you more room to read the screen.
  • Review & Submit is greyed out. It stays that way until all 18 holes of your own card have a score, and the page says "Enter all assigned holes before submit." Open the Card tab and look for the holes marked Open. On a single hole, "Your group · 2 of 3 in" tells you someone is still missing.
  • You submitted too early. Once you submit, your scorecard is locked and cannot be changed from the page. Tell the director which hole is wrong.
  • The page says "Some scores still need to sync." A score has not gone through yet. When the phone has a signal again, press Try Again if you see it. The line changes to "All scores are saved." when everything is in.
  • The page is slow or stuck. Reload it and open Enter Scores again, then check that each hole shows the number you meant. If one is missing, tap it again.

Director's tip

Do the scoring on one phone, and have a second golfer read the card back at the turn. The golfer holding the phone is the one who notices a score they did not mean to tap.
