What the event page and the leaderboard show a spectator, how to read a row, and what to do when the scores stop moving.

Quick answer. Open the event's page and press View Leaderboard. Find your golfer, then read the THRU column before the order: it says how many holes they have finished. Tap a golfer's row to see every hole they have played.

Who can do this: anyone with the link. You do not sign in.

Before you start

You need the link to the event, or you can find it on Find an event. Watching along without an account is the short version of this article.

The steps

  1. Read the event page. It shows the event's name, the date, the course, the format and how many golfers are playing. Under Schedule it says whether scoring is open. Under Tee Sheet are the groups and who is in each. A group that starts somewhere other than the first hole shows its start hole. Under Field is everyone who is playing.
  2. Look at the status. It says In Progress during play. Below it, one of three notes tells you where the leaderboard is:
    • "Leaderboard is updating in real time": play is under way.
    • "Awaiting results": the round is over, but the director has not confirmed the results.
    • "Final results": "Official results are available".
  3. Press View Leaderboard. The page opens on Net, which takes each golfer's handicap off their strokes. Press Gross to rank them on raw strokes. The page says which one you are looking at.
  4. Read a row. The golfer's rank, their name, and their score to par (a minus is under par; E is even). THRU is the holes finished, and F means all of them. NET and GROSS are the totals so far.
  5. Spot a tie. A T before the rank, such as T4, means those golfers are tied.
  6. See the holes. Tap a golfer's row to open their score on every hole they have played.
  7. Put it on a big screen. TV View opens a version made for a clubhouse screen. It lists the rank, player, how many holes they have finished, and their scores, and it carries the club's name at the bottom.
  8. Pass the link on. At the bottom of the event page, under Share This Event, the link is written out. Copy it and send it to anyone who wants to watch. Right below it, "Share the leaderboard" gives the address of the leaderboard itself.

What you should see

When every golfer has finished, the leaderboard says Final Results at the top, and a banner says "OFFICIAL RESULTS. This event is complete — scores are locked and final." Once you see that, the order will not change.

If it goes wrong

  • The scores are not moving. Look for "This board doesn't update by itself." If you see it, press Show newest scores whenever you want the latest. If you do not see it, reload the page.
  • A golfer has a dash. Their group has not entered a score yet, or they have not teed off. A dash is not a zero. Check back later.
  • The order looks wrong. Check THRU first. A golfer who has played 3 holes can lead one who has played 12. Then check whether you are on Net or Gross. The same golfer can rank differently on each.
  • It says "Awaiting results". The round is over and the director has not confirmed the results yet. The order is not official until they do.
  • There is no View Leaderboard button. The event has not started. The page will say "Registration open" or "Upcoming". Check back on the day.
  • You cannot tell which golfer is yours. Find them under Field or Tee Sheet on the event page to check the spelling of the name, then look for the same name on the leaderboard.
  • A score looks wrong. Tell the director. They are the one who can change it, and spectators cannot.

Director's tip

Put the link in the final reminder to the field and ask each golfer to send it to one person at home. Then nobody has to call the clubhouse to ask how the group is doing.
