Print a QR card for the counter
Print a card with a QR code for the pro shop counter. Golfers point a phone camera at it and land on your club page, or on your booking page once online booking is on. Cart signs for an event are a different page.
Quick answer. On the tee sheet press More, then Scan-to-Book kit. You get a card with a QR code and a Print button. With online booking off, the card sends golfers to your club's page. With online booking on, it sends them to your booking page. There is only this one card, for the counter. It is not a set of cart signs.
Who can do this: Front Desk, an Organizer or an Admin. We walked it as the club Admin and did not open it from the counter, though the counter's More menu lists Scan-to-Book kit too, as Open the day's sheet says.
Before you start
Decide whether you want the card to say "Find us online" or "Book your tee time". The card changes with the online booking switch in your tee sheet's settings. The switch is explained in Let golfers book online.
The steps
- Press Tee Sheet in the side menu, then More, then Scan-to-Book kit.
- Read the sentence at the top. It tells you where the code leads.
- With online booking off, the page is titled Counter card. It begins "A counter card for the pro shop", gives the web address the code opens, and ends "your club page, with your events, results and how to reach you."
- With online booking on, the page is titled Scan to Book kit and says the code opens your booking page: "one scan, three taps, booked."
- Look at the card itself.
- Booking off: your club's name, then "Find us online", "Point your phone's camera here" and "Events · Results · How to reach us · No account needed".
- Booking on: "Book your tee time", "Point your phone's camera here" and "No account · No booking fees · Takes a minute". We copied that last line from the screen. We did not check it.
- Press Print and use your browser's print window.
- Put the card where golfers will see it. We did not scan the code with a phone, so try it yourself before you stick it down.
What you should see
A small card with your club's name or a call to book, a QR code, and one line of words. The sentence at the top of the page changed when we turned online booking on, and so did the words on the card.
If it goes wrong
- The card still says "Find us online" and you wanted "Book your tee time". Online booking is still off. Turn it on in your tee sheet's settings, then open the kit again. We saw the card change when we did this.
- The printout has the side menu and the top bar on it. In a PDF our test browser made from this page, the side menu and the header sat beside the card. We did not test a real printer. Look at your browser's print preview first. If they are there, you can tell us at support@back9ops.com.
- You wanted cart signs for an event. This page makes one counter card. Cart signs for an event come with the field packet: Print scorecards and field packets.
- You are not sure the code works. Point your phone's camera at the screen before you print. We did not scan it.
Director's tip
If you plan to take bookings online, turn that on before you print, so the card you put on the counter already says "Book your tee time".
