Print the week's scorecards
Get the week's field packet, one scorecard per group, and the cart signs. Download it, print it, or email it to your golfers. Use it once the groups are built.
Quick answer. Build the week's groups first. Then open the Print Field Packet page and press Download PDF to get one scorecard per group, Cart signs to get one sign per cart, or Email Players to send the packet to every golfer. Email Players sends at once, with no question first. We downloaded the PDFs. We did not walk the browser's own print window, so we do not say what Print Packet shows.
Who can do this: an Admin. This was walked as an Admin. We did not walk it as an Organizer. Who can do what in your club has the full list.
Before you start
The week needs its groups. On the week's page, Print Field Packet is marked LOCKED with "Step 2 is locked. Build pairings first." until they are built. A league week, start to finish shows how. If someone is out or a sub is playing, record that first, so the cards are right: A sub is playing this week.
The steps
- Open the packet page. From the week's page, press step 2, Print Field Packet. From the Manage Week page, the link at the bottom reads Print Scorecards and goes to the same page. We went in through step 2.
- The page says Packet Ready. Under it are the counts PAIRINGS and GROUP SCORECARDS, such as 3 and 3, and the GENERATED date. A line says "QR guest scoring included — players scan to score, no login needed".
- To get paper, press Download PDF. The file has one page for each group. Each page is headed with your league's name, then the course, the date, the week and "Tee Times", then "Group 1 · 5:00 PM · Start Hole 1", the holes with par and yards, each golfer's name with "Scan to score", and a "Marker ___ Player ___" line for signatures.
- For carts, press Cart signs. The file has a sign for each cart, with the group, the tee time, "CART 1 OF 2", the golfers on that cart, and "ALSO IN YOUR GROUP" with the others.
- To send the packet to your golfers, press Email Players. There is no question first. The page says "Scorecard packet email sent to 9 player(s)." Each golfer gets an email whose subject is your league's name, the week and "Scorecard Packet", such as "Cold Read One - Week 4 Scorecard Packet".
- To make a fresh packet, press More, then Regenerate packet. A box asks "Refresh field packet?" and says "This creates a fresh packet for this week and updates player QR scoring links." Press Refresh packet, or Cancel.
What you should see
Packet Ready at the top of the page, the counts of groups and scorecards, and a PDF with a page for every group when you press Download PDF.
If it goes wrong
- Print Field Packet is locked. The groups are not built. Press Build pairings first (an Admin presses Generate Pairings on the Manage Week page).
- The preview box says "Preview is not available in this browser. Download the PDF instead." That is what our browser showed. Press Download PDF and print the file.
- You pressed Email Players and meant to wait. The email has gone. We pressed it once and it went to all 9 golfers. Press it once, when the groups are final.
- Someone you marked Out is still on a card, or a guest's name is missing. That is what we saw. See A sub is playing this week. Check the cards before you print a stack.
- You changed the groups after you printed. Press More, then Regenerate packet, and print again. The box says it updates the QR scoring links, so throw away the old pages.
- The button for Cart signs is not there. The page's code shows it only when QR guest scoring is on. We did not walk a club with it off, and we did not walk a packet that had not been generated or had failed. We once saw "Failed" and "Pairings could not be generated." with a Retry now button on the week page, and did not find out why.
- You are an Organizer. We did not walk it. A league week, start to finish lists a Print Field Packet step on the Organizer's page.
Director's tip
Print the cards the day before, after you have recorded who is out. On league night you are handing out paper that is already right, not fixing it at the counter.
