Add your course, tees and holes
Add a course to your club, give it a tee set with its rating and slope, and fill in each hole's par and yards. Do this once, and every tee sheet, event and club page can use the course.
Quick answer. Press Courses in the side menu, then Add Course. If the search does not find your course, press Skip — enter course details manually, type the course's name and number of holes, and press Create Course. On the course's page press + Add Tee Set and give it a name, a rating and a slope. Then press Open Scorecard Editor, type the par and yards for each hole, and press Save Scorecard.
Who can do this: an Admin or an Organizer of the club. We walked it as the club Admin and did not walk it as an Organizer.
Before you start
Have the course's scorecard in front of you: the name, the number of holes, and for each set of tees the rating, the slope, and every hole's par and yards.
The steps
- Press Courses in the side menu. The page is called Course Library and says "Manage your courses, tees, and scorecards." Press Add Course.
- The next page is called Find Your Golf Course. It says "Search 30,000+ courses — tee ratings, slope, and a full hole-by-hole scorecard imported automatically." We did not use the search. We pressed Skip — enter course details manually.
- The Add Course form asks for Course Name (it has a star, so it is needed), Location / City, Number of Holes (9, 18, 27 or 36), Website, Phone and Description. Fill it in and press Create Course. If you press it with the name empty, the form says "The Name field is required."
- You land on the course's own page. At the top is the course's name with the word Active beside it, and the buttons Map Greens (GPS) and Edit Scorecard. Below are four boxes: Course Settings (with Save Changes), Course Logo, GPS Yardages and Tee Sets.
- In Tee Sets, a new course says "No tee sets added yet." and "Add at least one tee set before entering scorecard data." Press + Add Tee Set.
- The tee-set form asks for Tee Name (needed), Color, Gender (All, Men or Women), Par, Course Rating and Slope Rating. In our walk we added White, rating 70.1, slope 120. Press Add Tee Set. An empty name gives "The Name field is required." The new tee set shows in a table with its name, gender, rating, slope, par and yards, with Edit and an ✕ beside it.
- Press Open Scorecard Editor under the table. The page is headed Scorecard Editor and lists the tee sets, such as "White (70.1 / 120)". The columns are Hole, Name, Par, S.I. and Yards, with OUT and TOTAL rows. It says "Click any cell to edit. Press Save Scorecard when done. Par and yardage totals update automatically."
- Type the par and the yards for each hole, and press Save Scorecard. In our walk we changed only the par and the yards.
- The page says Saved! The OUT and TOTAL rows add up for you. Ours read OUT 36 par and 3220 yards, TOTAL 72 par and 6440 yards.
What you should see
The Course Library lists the new course with its holes and tee sets. After our walk the top of the page said "3 courses" and "3 active", and the new course's card said "18 holes" and "1 tee set". The tee sheet's course box then listed the new course too, and choosing it said Set up your tee sheet; that is the next job: Set up your tee sheet. The club's public page showed the course in a table with the White tees at par 72, 6,440 yards, rating 70.1 and slope 120.
If it goes wrong
- "The Name field is required." The form wants a name. Type one and press the button again.
- The course page says "Add at least one tee set before entering scorecard data." Press + Add Tee Set first. We did not try to open the scorecard editor on a course with no tee set.
- Yards show a dash. When we first added the White tee set its yards column showed "—". We had not typed any yards yet. We did not look at that table again after saving the scorecard.
- You typed numbers and they are not there next time. The editor says to press Save Scorecard when you are done. We did not test leaving without pressing it.
- The course is not in the search. Use Skip — enter course details manually as above. We did not use the search, so we cannot say what it brings in.
- You want to take a course out of use. The Status box in Course Settings offers Active and Archived. We did not change it.
- The logo and the green mapping. The course page has Upload Logo ("PNG, JPG or WebP · max 2 MB.") and Map your greens. We did not walk either one.
Director's tip
Copy the rating and slope from the card your course already prints, tee set by tee set. Golfers see them: ours showed on the club's public page.
