Your first shift at the counter
What the Front Desk screen offers when you start working the counter, and what to press for a tee time, an event sign-up, a league, a new player or a reprinted scorecard.
Quick answer. Sign in with your name and 4-digit code. The Front Desk screen asks "What do you need to do?" and gives you four big buttons: Tee Sheet, Events, Leagues and Players. Under them is a box to reprint a scorecard. When you finish, press your name and Switch.
Who can do this: anyone on the club's front desk crew, once signed in. An Admin adds the crew in Counter staff with no email.
Before you start
You need your name on the crew and your 4-digit code. Signing in at the station shows how to sign in.
The steps
- Sign in. The counter opens on Front Desk, headed "What do you need to do?" Your name and Switch show at the top.
- A golfer wants a tee time. Press Tee Sheet ("Today's times — book, move, check in"). Open the day's sheet takes it from there.
- A golfer wants into an event. Press Events ("Sign a player up for an event"). Find the event in the list and press Field. Under Add from Roster, find the golfer and press + Add. A note says "Player added to the field." The box "Email them that they're registered" starts switched off, so nothing is emailed unless you turn it on.
- A golfer wants into a league. Press Leagues ("Enroll a player in a league"), then Manage League on the one they want, then the Roster tab. Under "Enroll player from org roster", type the golfer's name, tap the name that appears, and press Enroll. No note shows. The golfer joins the list below, and the count above it, such as "9 / ∞", goes up by one. The same page has buttons such as Lock Registration that change the whole league, so leave those to a manager.
- The golfer is not on your list yet. Press Players ("Add someone new, find someone"). The list has Add Player at the top and an Edit button on each row. Two other buttons at the top, Invite All and Mark as Members, are named for the whole list, so ask a manager before you press them.
- A golfer lost their scorecard. On the Front Desk screen, find Reprint a scorecard. Type at least two letters of the golfer's name. It finds golfers in events at your club that are played today. League nights are not covered.
- When your shift ends or you hand over the counter, press your name and Switch.
What you should see
On the Front Desk screen, four buttons and the Reprint a scorecard box. The side menu on the left shows Front Desk, Tee Sheet, Events, Leagues and Players.
If it goes wrong
- The screen asks who is working the counter. You are signed out of your shift. Tap your name and type your code, as in Signing in at the station.
- You opened a Settings, Communications or Club Page address and landed back on the counter. That is on purpose. The counter does not offer those pages, and an old bookmark to one sends you back. An Admin does that work from their own sign-in.
- The Reprint box says "Nobody by that name is playing in an event here today." The golfer is not in an event today, or the spelling is off. Try fewer letters.
- The golfer is in the event but does not appear under Add from Roster. They are not on your player list. Add them under Players first.
- You are signed in as the wrong person. Press your name and Switch, then sign in as yourself, so the History shows the right name.
Director's tip
Keep the counter on the Front Desk screen between jobs. Everything starts there, and a golfer who walks up sees a clean page, not the last person's booking.
